There are two kinds of continuous trap cards:
- Automatic- uncontrollable
- Ignition-like - requires manual activation after it has been activated
The first paragraph deals with automatic continuous trap cards. The second one talks about the ignition-like continuous trap cards.
Those automatic continuous trap cards such as Royal Decree, Imperial Order, and Shadow Imprisoning mirror do not require a chain since the negation cannot be manually controlled. It's automatic, like a an attractive girl talking to Ken Van, she has uncontrollable inclinations towards me yo. (this comment is meant for humor). Therefore, shadow mirror works when chained to armageddon knight because the effect is immediate and noncontrollable.
Ultimate offering, skull lair, and royal oppression require to be face up on the field in order to be used in a chain because the negation has to be manually activated. These are called Ignition-like continuous trap cards. To manually activate one of these guys they have to first be face up on the field. It's like there's this girl right? And you can't talk to her unless you see her. So to see someone you have to first activate the trap card, then you could talk to her or manually activate the card.
Automatic Continuous Trap Cards include:
- Royal Decree
- Shadow Imprisoning Mirror
- Light Imprisoning Mirror
- Imperial Order
- Skill Drain
Manual Continuous Trap Cards include:
- Skull Lair
- Ultimate Offering
- Royal Oppression
If anyone has anymore continuous trap card suggestions, feel free to post so I could add it to the examples.
